WHO WE ARE
Radiant Life Church
We are community of Christ followers passionate about worshiping Jesus and growing in faith, sharing our lives and faith with others, reaching people who don’t have a relationship with God, and blessing our communities and world through our lives. And we are passionate about doing it together and committed to unity.
We exist to live in biblical community, living out God’s kingdom here on earth, as part of the body of Christ for the purpose of making Christ known to the world and making true followers of Him.
We exist to glorify God by being a light to this world. We were formerly in darkness, but now are light in the Lord and we walk as children of light (Eph. 5:8) following the mandate of Jesus Christ to let you’re your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven (Matt. 5:16) with the goal that Christ may present us to Himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any blemish, but holy and blameless (Eph. 5:27).
Our church is built on Eight Core Values
We are Passionate About the Worship of God
The worship of Almighty God is a serious thing. It is our number one reason for gathering corporately. Worship is to be freely expressed and not rote religious expressions. It is the object of our worship, however, not entertaining gimmicks, that makes worship vibrant and exciting. We believe in worship that is joyful and exciting, but sacred.God is holy and is to be treated as holy.
God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
John 4:24
Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know they are doing evil.
Ecclesiastes 5:1
We are Deeply Committed to Prayer
Prayer surrounds and supports everything we do as a church. It is the activity we do most often and most passionately.Wherever we meet becomes a “house of prayer” and in our sanctuary, we honor the sacred prayer altar of God.
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.
Colossians 4:2
With all prayer and petition praying at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18
We are Guided by the Bible
God’s written word is the authoritative basis for what we do and how we do it and it is the source for what we teach. We make the public reading of the Bible part of all gatherings and are totally committed to its study and its life application.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
…give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching.
1 Timothy 4:13
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.Do what it says.
James 1:22
We are Intentional about Making Disciples.
We are committed to sharing the gospel and developing true disciples of Christ. We believe that redemption and salvation are free gifts of God given by His grace through our faith. Becoming a disciple of Christ, however, goes beyond intellectual assent and requires a commitment to follow and a newness of life. In the disciple-making process, we are committed to developing and using every member’s spiritual gifts in building up the body of Christ.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you… Matthew 28:19-20
We are Serious about Holy Communion
This sacred act is not taken lightly and is a regular and important part of our worship experience.
…do this in remembrance of Me.
Luke 22:19
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:26-27
We allow Freedom of the Holy Spirit.
We invite and welcome the Holy Spirit to do what He wants when He wants and we value His gifts and His manifestations, no matter how He chooses to reveal Himself.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17
And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven…
Matthew 12:31-32
We Live in Biblical Community.
We are, together, the body of Christ and pursue love and unity as commanded by Jesus, striving to love each other as Christ loves the church, being intent on one purpose. We are committed to and intentional about creating fellowship among our members, believing that fellowship of believers is key to being the church.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:23-25
We Walk out Kingdom Citizenship.
God’s kingdom is still advancing. Through the Holy Spirit, God still speaks and empowers supernaturally for the carrying out of His work. We are spiritually seated in heavenly places with Christ and are born again into a new life in His kingdom. As such, we are ambassadors of Christ and seek to carry out the mandate of Christ, “Thy Kingdom Come” on this earth.
Pray, then, in this way; Our Father who is in heaven, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:9-10
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
